Course Overview: 6-Week Professional Hair Braiding Program
This six-week intensive course teaches you the core skills needed to start a career in hair braiding. You will learn sanitary habits, client care, and modern braiding techniques from experienced instructors. (Note : Week of September 14th, there will be no classes.
What You Will Learn
Week 1: Safety and Fundamentals
Learn health and sanitation rules for your state.
Practice proper parting, sectioning, and hand positioning.
Understand scalp health and natural hair care.
Week 2: Basic Cornrows and Straight-Backs
Master traditional cornrows close to the scalp.
Practice straight-back designs and neatness.
Learn tension control to protect client edges.
Week 3: Box Braids and Knotless Braids
Learn the classic box braiding method.
Master the popular knotless braiding technique for a natural look.
Practice adding synthetic and human hair extensions cleanly.
Week 4: Feed-In Braids and Tribal Styles
Create smooth feed-in cornrows with a seamless look.
Practice trendy stitch braids and tribal patterns.
Learn how to blend different hair textures and lengths.
Week 5: Specialty Styles and Maintenance
Learn crochet braiding and faux locs.
Understand how to maintain, touch up, and take down styles safely.
Learn styling and finishing techniques (using hot water, mousse, and edge control).
Week 6: Business, Pricing, and Portfolio Building
Learn how to price your services and manage bookings.
Practice photography and lighting to build an Instagram or portfolio.
Receive a completion certificate and guidance on state licensing requirements.
